Fall Registration Update

Early registration will kick off this week!  You can find links to program registration HERE or by selecting the correct program from the program’s drop down tab.  You may notice some new titles, to better represent the programs SSC is offering, InHouse will now be referred to as DEVELOPMENTAL and InterCommunity will now be shown as RECREATIONAL.  For each, there is plenty of description available for what the programs offer which at this point is exactly the same as last season.  The only change is the names.

Early registration will run from May 3rd through May 18th where parents can receive a discount when paying by credit card.  Then Open Registration will run May 19ththrough June 28th.  Late registration will begin June 29th and run through July 14th.  NOTE: SSC only accepts late registrants on an as needed basis to create teams.  It is critical to sign your kids up before June 29thto ensure a roster spot regardless of player age.

Weather and Field Conditions

Rain Rain Go Away and stay gone until after the season ends!

You may have noticed an uptick in RainedOut messages these last several weeks, and that is because Mother Nature has decided to make herself known.  Consistent rain and storms will reak havok on our fields which require us to cancel practices and possibly games.  The way our fields drain, if there is any significant rain within 24-48 hours of an event, our Fields Manager must survey the field conditions to make sure the fields are 1) safe for play, without any significant ponding or mud holes eager to grab a foot and 2) not at risk of deteriorating the field for future weeks of play.  The club wants to play just as much as your players, but we appreciate your patience as we need to make sure the surfaces remain intact.

Upcoming Events

The SSC is trying hard to provide additional opportunities for family socialization in the community. Last month we kicked off with a humble outing to Chipotle, although it was stormy and right before a holiday, those that attended seemed to have a great time.  On May 20th, we will be holding our next community event at Chic Fil A.  We hope to see you out there for some fun and good chicken!

At Denny field later in May, you may see a food truck or two pop up for a visit.  Kona Ice has confirmed they will be returning on May 18 to offer some cool sweet treats as the Saturday’s get hotter.
