In House Meet & Greet for U5-U8

The parents and players of our In House teams had the opportunity to meet their coaches, commissioners and several board members this week.  In addition to the introductions, the parents were given the in’s and out’s of the spring season, while the players and coaches became better aquainted with an informal practice.

Jersey Issues

While compiling and submitting the jerseys, a reporting error skewed the sizing toward the larger and resulted in a delay for distributing the jerseys by several days. Additionally, it came to our attention that one of our sponsors was incorrectly referenced on the back of the jersey’s.  While the board looks into where the breakdown occurred, we wanted to express our regret over the error and reaffirm our appreciation for Hahn Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.’s support of the club.

2ndAnnual SSC Easter Egg Hunt was a success!

The 2ndannual SSC Easter Egg Hunt was a very nice morning for  all of our in house players and parents.  Over 4000 eggs were seperated into three hunting fields (1-3 year olds, 4-6 year olds, 7-up).  There were several special eggs scattered through out with limited edition chicks inside as well as candy, stickers, toys, and other surprises.  We had around 100 children participate and a full box of donated food will be delivered to a local food bank.

First Week of Inter-Community Play Results

U10 Boys

Bennie: Team Bennie had a tough game Saturday against Fox Chapel.  There was some team balancing issues between competitors, but our Shaler Boys hung tough and gave it their all.

Marsula: Team Marsula came out on top in a 5-1 win over North Hills on Saturday.  The entire team played their hardest and it payed off on the score board!

Schmidt: Fox Chapel stood victorious as well over Team Schmidt later in the morning on Saturday. With limited practice time due to field availability and minimal subs, the Shaler team made a respectable effort.

U10Girls

Bianchi: Team Bianchi was town 3-1 at half time but rallied strong for a 6-5 come back win.  Your coach and club could not be more proud!

Crider: Team Crider ties 2-2 with Fox Chapel in a strong showing Saturday with several U8 call ups.

Fuscaldo: Team Fuscaldo ends up a bit short in a 3-1 loss to Hampton.

U12 Boys

Quinn: Team Quinn reports a 3-2 win against Freeport.  There was a lot of positive combination passing and a solid defensive effort by all. The game winner came with less than 4 minutes remaining and the lead was secured due to the great efforts of Team Quinn’s goal keepers.

Rios: 5-0 Win sets the season pace for Team Rios.

Sidick: Getting out of the comfort zone was the challenge of the day for Team Sidick in their 7-1 win over Hampton.  Every player played at least one position outside of the norm.

U12 Girls

Paladin: Team Paladin walks away from Hampton’s field with a 3-1 win!

Crider: Team Crider pulls out a win in a 4-3 victory over North Hills with several U10 play ups.

U14 Boys

Salego: Several stand out plays and players contributed to the 7-1 win over North Hills. This was contributed to the discipline shown by our U14 boys with no cards, no penalties and no offsides the entire game.

U14 Girls

Wilkins: Team Wilkins routes North Allegheny in a 4-0 win in this great start to the season.

U19

Heere: Yet to be Reported
