Shaler Soccer Club will be hosting a free goalkeeper clinic on March 27th for ALL kids ages U8 and up that are interested in learning and developing goalkeeper skills.
We have partnered with the following University of Pittsburgh and Shaler High School coaches / players to provide training and instruction:
University of Pittsburgh - Asst. Men's Coach - Chris Karwoski University of Pittsburgh - Goalkeeper Coach - Eric Barnes University of Pittsburgh - Goalkeeper - Keegan Gunderson Shaler High School - Mens's Varsity Goalkeeper Coach - Mike Chmieleski
We will also have other College level goalkeepers participating and providing additional 1 on 1 instruction.
Based on this incredible opportunity of receiving quality coaching at no cost to the players or the club we are looking for 35 - 45 kids that have played goal or anyone that you have identified that would like the opportunity to learn the position. In addition, I would like to extend this invitation to all coaches u8 and up to come out on the 27th to observe and incorporate some of the fundamentals on coaching goalkeepers to your practice plans.
Where: Denny Field - Concession stand will be open
When: March 27th; 10:45 - 11:00 am - Player registration / Group assignment - 11:00 am - 2:00pm clinic
Clinic Format: Technical Skills / Footwork, Ball Distribution, Positioning, Situational play & fun games/competitions
What to bring: Water bottle, shin guards, Ball, (goalie gloves if you have them)
HOW TO REGISTER YOUR PLAYERS:
Coaches: Email Director of Player Development, Larry Balkey - Larry@shalersoccerclub.com with the following information no later than March 24th:
1. Age group - Name of player (s) 2. Name of coach attending the clinic (optional but strongly recommended if you are available)
You may forward this email to your parents to generate interest / availability - however, I would prefer the coaches register their players to control the numbers.
*As a guideline - We are looking for a min. of 1-2 players from each team. If you have 3 or 4 players submit their names and we will do our best to enroll everyone.
In the event of cancellation due to weather or poor field conditions - the coaches will be contacted via email and will be responsible for notifying your players that have enrolled for the clinic.

Bottom Line: Your goalkeepers will get more instruction in one afternoon than they will in a typical season - please make sure to get them enrolled!
